Set to gear one

Journal Entry: Mon Jan 28, 2013, 11:04 AM
Hello guys,

as usual, not many submissions from me, but I'm slowly starting the drawing process again, finally!
I've made two book marks (latest submission) and will be trying some new art materials soon
(watercolor, this'll be interesting! And definitely a big challenge to my patience.. ;)  )

So I hope to get my page and especially the 'submit artwork' part more active.
As of now, I've shifted into a slow but steady gear one :)

So, how are you all doing?

  • Mood: Optimism
  • Listening to: Phil Collins - Face Value (album)

Yahoo! :glomp:
I'm glad you like them! I've figured out that drawing small simple things might get be started again :)
I'll be trying out some new watercolours soon, that'll be a whole new area!

I've been quite okay, even more so now I finally get into the mood of drawing again.
I'm sorry to hear you're so busy! I hope you do have some time for your hobbies?

I Love water colors if i had the space i would do more paintings myself! they are fun and easy to use i particularly love water color pencils!

Im glad your doing well, I hope your move keeps growing :)i miss seeing your work.
Yeah I've been really busy with work, but when im home i try to draw as much as i can and sometimes play the odd game if im not in the mood to draw.

I just bought a small set today (12 pans in a little palet)
I've only used watercolours a few times before, but always cheap stuff, and I've been told it's a huge difference.
I'm really looking forward to try it, hopefully tomorrow or the day after. It'll be a challenge to my patience though, waiting for paint to dry.. ;)
I do have some watercolor pencils as well, they haven't seen much use either.. Which ones do you have? :)

:) Thanks for the encouragment! It's always great to hear people like my drawings :glomp:
Keep up the great art yourself, but don't overwork yourself
Games are fun! I have to install my gamecube and N64 + SNES again, fun old times. I'm also saving for a 3DS XL, there are some nice games for it, so I want! XP

Ahh nice :D! I really like the freedom and the blending you can do with water colors. having decent ones do make the difference though, I currently don't have any water pencils as much as I'd love to do traditional works again, i simply don't have room for a canvas in my room.

^^ im glad your getting back into it all i know what its like to have not done any art in a long time, since i got back into the motivation of things Ive been drawing non stop. And wow old school consoles, got to love them I only have my pc to of ps2/3 to play on i do miss the N64 though.

I'm looking forward to try!
I just use my regular desk for all traditional art :)
I simply put my laptop on the bed and grab the stuff I need.
Or I use the dining table downstairs, har-har! Although sometimes my four legged critters love to sleep on my materials then.
One of my cats actually loves sitting on my pencil wrap, and attack the pencil that I'm trying to pick out of it! XD

:glomp: I'm glad we both are being creative again (or at least trying! :giggle: I've only finished one thing so far, so I shouldn't count my eggs before they're hatched)
Yes, old school indeed! Although.. I sold our oldest console (the NES) a few weeks back. After playing on it for a few minutes of course.. It's incredible how I still know so many of the songs of those games we used to play!

yay! i saw some of your works already they look great, your really getting the hang of them quickly!
ahh well i don't have a laptop i use a desktop pc, so moving it away would be more effort than needed, i would like a laptop for when im on the go though! I have been recently been sketching in my crappy 1 euro sketch books with my crappy 1 euro sketch pencils its fund to do things when im in the train or so.Its just a shame i have no way to show them to people XD.

I am glad we are both are more creative it feels good to be drawing everything and anything I want!
haha yes i have the same with a lot of games or even just im working and i start to hum the tetris tune or Donkey Kong im stood there like mmm why is that in my head.

A little off topic but well somehow i managed to talk myself into going to a deviant art meet On the 16th of Feb just a small group of dutchies meeting up in Utrecht i was wondering if you where maybe free or interested in going also its a good chance for us to finally meet up! and its also less scary to go with someone!
Let me know if your interested.

Ah yes, that would be a little hard indeed D=
Hmm, you could always get a scanner? I have this one:
[link]
(I would ask if he has the power supply as well (and obviously if it's working), and shipping would be €7, that would make less than €12 for a great scanner ;) ) There's another one for €15 otherwise

Definitely! I haven't had this much fun for a while :)
Hahah, the Tetris songs are amazing, even on the old NES they used 8bit versions of classic music pieces ;)

Aww.. sounds like fun, but I have to work on saturdays :(
They should have done it in midweek in the spring vacation instead! D=
I hope you have fun! Don't worry too much, everyone must be that scared to go, I'm sure it'll be fine!

Nine! :glomp: It's been...well, how long has it been?

Glad to hear you're drawing again. I'll take a look at those book marks. Only because I'm a bookworm!

I'm good, you know me. Slowly grinding along. Awkwardly.

Hey Nick! :glomp: Too long, obviously ;)

Me too, I think I finally figured out that it's okay to do simple small drawings and then get into the flow again :)
Not everything has to be some kind of special masterpiece!

Hehe, bookworms are awesome, unless they actually eat my books!
I still have too many unread ones ^^;

:glomp: Awkward in a good way, I hope? ;)
